This video will cover how to get into space research (such as astrophysics or astronomy) and some research that is going on.
For those looking into space related majors, your best options are astronomy and astrophysics. However, as an undergrad you will usually just start as a physics major then pick a more specific discipline in grad school.
You also will need to get a PhD if you want to do work in astrophysics or astronomy. There really aren't jobs in these fields for those with just bachelor's degrees.
Although the field is very competitive, if you have a true interest for the subject, most people will tell you to pursue it. Even if you don't land a job that you want, astrophysicists and astronomers can find work in other fields such as finance, engineering, software development, teaching, and more.

I think it might be different in the uk. Because some universities do an astrophysicist phd degree with only takes 5 years to complete.
Iyerbeth
Iyerbeth 2 months ago
Yeah, in the uk the typical route is 3 years of undergraduate, a year in masters, then 3-4 years in PhD. Funding for PhD is typically 3 years, but usually you move on to some postdoc work whilst you finish up in a final year.

My biggest dream is having a job about astronomy, i don’t know which one for now. Actually i wanted to be an astronaut, because i want to go in space for once but it’s kinda a dream that I’ll probably not achieve so i can be an astrophysicist. I have a passion about the universe and particularly with stars. But 10 years of study is too much and i don’t know if i can do this. How am i gonna live without my own money till i’m 28 or something. I live in France so i can study astronomy but i have to do my college years in Turkey (don’t ask me why, it make me so mad). If i can’t do something about astronomy i’d love to do something about graphic design (it has nothing in common but i love art too ). I really don’t know, i’m so lost.

Here’s the thing. I’m good at math. I got over a 100% in geometry last semester. But this causes everyone to assume I love math. I don’t love it. I *H* *A* *T* *E* math. I still wanna be an astrophysicist tho, because space and the universe is so interesting. I think I mainly want to focus on like black holes and stars and stuff, maybe nebula too. If not that, then I’d like to focus on exoplanets and other galaxies and stuff. I also really wanna work at NASA but I know that’ll never happen lmao

What science can know and not know? Physics, 🌎, earth, smart scientists, the way the world works, theorists, taboos, being careful about saying things, what we can say and what we can not, Bull$hi+! Fullstop 🛑 lying? Fact! The physics of fluids dictate that liquids like water always find level, every time, without fail, everywhere one might test, regardless of the age or intelligence of the man woman or child to do it, without regard for the feelings of a lost baller in space. The only space that exists lies between us. Earth is Not Flat folks. That is an idiotic assertion! Words mean things. Yes, put them in a looney bin! Obviously there are many differing degrees of ground above and below the sea that is flat level! It is the 💦 water surrounding all the land upon which we stand that is level like the sea. No nonsense back! i am not a member of your filthy society or clubs. i don't want your insight or require your assistance. Toddlers who have 🎓 graduated from the sippy cup have demonstrated a fundamental understanding of the physics of fluids and you tell me science can't know this! Most of those toddlers, who obviously know more than the totality of the mental capability of knowledge and experience of mankind, many of those babies are still wetting the bed so i firmly assert, piss on scientist and anybody willing to suggest that we should be required to suffer them among us. They are as legions of parasites! No. i will not suffer them! Full 🛑.
