WIND-POWERED DEVICE WORKS 24/7 TO PRODUCE CLEAN DRINKING WATER OUT OF THIN AIR
WATERSEER COULD BE THE ANSWER TO WATER SCARCITY AROUND THE WORLD
RESEARCHERS AT VICI-LABS, IN COLLABORATION WITH UC BERKELEY AND THE NATIONAL PEACE CORPS ASSOCIATION (NPCA), DEVELOPED A DEVICE THAT CONDENSATES PURE WATER FROM THE AIR WITHOUT THE USE OF POWER OR CHEMICALS.
THE WATERSEER IS AN INEXPENSIVE, LOW-TECH AND LOW-MAINTENANCE CONDENSER THAT IS EXPECTED TO CREATE WATER SELF-SUFFICIENCY IN COMMUNITIES AROUND THE WORLD.
IT USES A RELATIVELY SIMPLE MECHANISM, WITH AN ABOVE-GROUND TURBINE THAT SPINS IN THE BREEZE, TURNING INTERNAL FAN-BLADES AND DIRECTING AIR DOWN INTO A CONDENSATION CHAMBER INSTALLED 1.8M (6 FT) UNDERGROUND.
THERE, THE METAL SIDES OF THE CHAMBER ARE COOLED BY SURROUNDING SOIL AND THESE IN TURN COOL DOWN THE WARM AIR INSIDE THE CHAMBER.
THIS CAUSES THE WATER VAPOR TO CONDENSATE INTO LIQUID WATER FLOWING DOWN INTO THE RESERVOIR.
WITH THE HELP OF A PUMP, THE POTABLE WATER CAN BE EASILY EXTRACTED AND COLLECTED.
DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE SIDES OF THE UNDERGROUND CHAMBER ARE ALWAYS COOLER THAN THE AIR, WATERSEER CAN COLLECT WATER DURING DAY AND NIGHT, EVEN WITH NO WIND.
UNDER OPTIMAL CONDITIONS, IT IS ESTIMATED THAT IT CAN YIELD UP TO 42L (11 GALLONS) OF DRINKING WATER PER DAY. A SIMPLE, SUSTAINABLE AND SCALABLE WAY OF PROVIDING WATER, AT A COST OF JUST $134.

To sell a photograph of a working device is needed. Additional customers that need fresh water in western countries include isolated farms and mountain huts.

Good idea but you need some kind of a mesh inside the cylinder to catch the water from the air ruvid.net/video/video-AQis6QlWDaQ.html You won't catch a lot though, the more efficient method is to have some kind of a cooling grill that is below zero temperature that water gets passed through and it would cause more water to come out of the air. ruvid.net/video/video-nuITRg681Xo.html

This particular device doesn't work well in low humidity areas, and true for most other devices. An air compressor collects water and is a good way to store power instead of batteries that go bad after a few years. Thou Nickel-iron batteries will last a 100 years, they have a high discharge rate which compressed air does not, but does take up considerable space. As other have said every air conditioner unit and fridge has a condensate pan/drip pan, also cars AC unit drips water on ground.

but in some places there's no clean air because we ruined it with are inventions like powerplants, cars, and dat other stuff and yet now some of us are thinking 'oh lets go to a different planet and maybe use renewable energy' but arnt we going to ruin that planet too?mabye or not but noice thinking

LIE, LIE, LIE.....ITS ALL FAKE. NONE of this will EVER work as it violates the laws of thermodynamics, and is nothing more than a dehumidifier, and the LARGEST AND MOST EFFECTIVE INDUSTRIAL DEHUMIDIFIER can only produce up to 55 liters per day of water and thats while using HUGE ammounts of energy into it in the form if electricity in order to do so. And even then the water produced by a dehumidifier is in NO WAY DRINKABLE.

I got some prime swamp land in Florida for ya. You are trying to get water out of some of the dryest air in the world. 6 feet down the temperature is close to the average temperature above ground so, at most, it only works half of the time. This whole thing is pure SCAM!!!

I just did a little research on this clever idea, and the consensus is that it does not hold up to what the developers like to promise. Before you lay out your money for this idea, check your ground temperatures at a depth of 6 to 7 feet and humidity levels, because both will make a huge difference whether you get any water or none at all.

If it takes 30000 cubic foot of air to make 1 cubic foot of water, the due point must be above 70 degrees. lots of luck.

I dont believe one is capable of producing eleven gallons great idea in theory though even if it did work as they say take things like sandstorms into the equation it would render the water undrinkable. Plus the sience behind all this i don't believe is at that level to produce 11 gallons maybe 1gallon but thats a stretch.

There is always some available water in the air. You can extract water, from the desert sand, with a plastic sheet, a rock, and a tin can to catch it in. You can even purify urine with that setup. So, this model wouldn't work too well. The dried air needs a vent, to allow more moist air in. As to the bug questions, a fine screen would keep all but the smallest ones out. If you are truly worried about pollution or bugs, and have no water, then you are way too pampered, and not thirsty enough.

There claims aren't BS per se...but they are being a little too exagerant with their claims of the effectiveness of the process. 1). They have only been able to show that it is effective at all in 'humid' enviroments. (i.e. field trials in Berkeley, California, half- and quarter-scale models of WaterSeer managed to pull about 300 milliliters of water from the air over the course of about three hours.) 2). The device only works when the ground is colder than the air, and unfortunately, at a depth of two meters, that's only true for half the day. 3). The heat released in the underground chamber would be great enough that it would heat up the surrounding soil and the bulb would stop working.
