This movie does the Man vs Nature story just right. No side is better than the other, and no side is worse than the other.

+Ryan Are you guy's interesting to see a sequel of Princess Mononoke so that San falls in love with Ashitaka so they could get married and live happily ever after like a Walt Disney Cinderella ending? Do you guys agree with me? Do you want to sign this petition? chng.it/h7kdFRHvcb

+Ryan but I still a Disney movie even though is Ghibli. And Ghibli is a part of Disney so therefore Princess Mononoke should join the Disney Princess. And Princess Mononoke deserves a sequel when San dressing up as a princess and a big fat gypsy princess wedding dress for the grand ball and for the wedding and similar princess dress like Pocahontas dress from Pocahontas 2. And San falls in love with Ashitaka so they will get married and live happily ever after like a Walt Disney Cinderella ending

+Ryan why not why you don't want another sequel of Princess Mononoke when San fall in love with Ashitaka so they could get married and live happily ever after like a Walt Disney Cinderella ending and San dressing up as a princess like Pocahontas dress from Pocahontas 2 in a big fat gypsy princess wedding dress for the grand ball for the wedding? Do you also agree with that? And trust me that will be a great sequel of Princess Mononoke

why cant the world exist like the small worlds of ghibli and miyazaki? why is globalization and big business profiting on the backs of innocent people who mostly cant help themselves enough to smile and enjoy life? Society itself is perpetually spun by personal unhappiness, by having no money to sustain the environment despite putting nearly trillions into entertainment every year, why cant we have a greener world? Why do cant we live in small happy communities like in the ghibli movies where everyone is happy and takes after each other and helps each other instead of being all about themself. What's stopping the world from becoming as green and lively and wonderful as these worlds that you witness for a short hour before a big resolution of conflict brings peace and happiness back to everyone.. Where's our resolution? Why is no one putting efforts into growing food and livestock and traditionalism and strengthening local community? Where can i even go in this world anymore without impossible amounts of wealth where i can be surrounded by people that want to care about me and give me a smile as i walk along the earth's lively winding roads into town to do my daily tasks and gather what i need and come home to a non-invasive, non-distracting home where i can relax and live in simplicity? Worlds like ghibli and older JRPGs are cruel to people that understand how much theyd want to live there... if its a small community in our world nowadays people of ill will always move in and infect everything and people will not gather to protest or create change that is better for everyone in the community to change these problematic people. There is no regulation and care for the common community anymore because people are infinitely distracted by personal entertainment devices like computers or phones and theyd rather care about people on the other side of the country that is invested and cares about your own niche and obscure interests, that is the replacement now to small village type environments, the online villages themselves are just as prone to discourse and bad eggs, and we see niche online communities experience the same natural discourse when a bad egg joins and the rest of the people dont play their part to regulate. This online village is sadly the closest we have nowadays to a natural healthy environment, because of how disinterested and different people are where i live. I hope one day I can move to a healthy place like on the beachside or on a natural place of widllife that isnt completely destroyed due to industrialization... No matter how hard or deep these emotions run for a life within something positive and healthy like ghibli, i am a product of this unchanging world and i want it to change. I can't watch ghibli films anymore because they just make me cry. But not because of the characters in the story that matter, but because of the ones that dont....

The scenarios of the movies are so well thought! I wish Studio Ghibli will continue to make movies forever! Let’s hope together! As someone said the “sides” of the man vs nature are represented so nicely in this one. Their movies are just so beautiful and deep.. They make you think, and think again about many things, and take you to another world... so lovely

My first Studio Ghibli movie... Stumbled upon the VCD by accident 18 years ago. The movie and soundtrack amaze me so much. The first anime to give me such impression. Ashitaka was 'the man'. Such a pure hero. And the animation for a hand-drawn, was 10/10. A masterpiece that deserve more love.

This movie shaped me as a person. When I watch it now I notice how it created my picture of a true hero, what it means and how important it is "To see with eyes unclouded by hate" and that in war no one is ever truly "right". Thank you Studio Ghibli for gifting me those things together with a truly touching story, breathtaking pictures and music which leads me into the valley of the old gods side by side with Ashitaka and Jakul.

Well, I watched this movie quite late. I am sixteen years old and most people watched this when they were younger. I have heard about Studio Ghibli before but I only decided to watch it recently because I read the novel "Howl's Moving Castle'' and I thought that I should watch the movie also. I am watching other Studio Ghibli movies now and I can see why people love their films so much.

You know how music can take you to another world and completely immerse you to the point where you sorta forget about yourself for a moment? Studio Ghibli is the movie equivalent of that.

She is 15 years old, and when the movie finished she said to me "The human being is awful", she was crying, and was so sad to me, but also said that it was the most beautiful movie that she ever has seen in her short life. Thank you Studio Ghibli, for move the feelings of the people.

When I listen to this song, it is like a song of an anti-hero. He may see corruption but beauty. In a quest to spread that beauty, the hero may do act valiantly and bravely. But, he suffers great sadness and sacrifices only to see that his acts were in vain. He falls in despair and pain to see his ideals torn into fabrics then accepts that his time has not yet come to fulfill his goals. Then, he dies peacefully, hoping that a new hero would bring about his dream.

Amen. They heightened my standards of movies to the extent that most movies bore or disinterest me. It may be a long time before we get works that match or even surpass their aesthetic and moral caliber.

Long time ago I could almost agree with the movie that no side is better than the other, and no side is worse than the other. Right now where I look I see cars , some are eco but still , stations , people pollute , factories , which makes me feel really sad . Everybody knows....No trees will be seen in the long future unfortunately :( Approximately 7 billion trees are cut down each year... I hope I'm wrong that there will be no trees. Still, there are other much better habitable planets just like ours ! :)

This is a beautiful music piece. It's sad. But I understand that it's all about San/Mononoke who cares so much for the animals and the forest. Her heart goes out to them despite her sadness, her pain, and her hatred towards the destructive humans. Only Ashitaka and the spirits of the forest know who she really is. They know that she's special. They even know that her secret heart belongs to the world. But humankind isn't ready to evolve and to have the full awareness which is why this song is sad.

And thanks to this film we learn that good and bad is truly about yourself. What is for sure good is what is good for you and those who you want to protect. What's surely bad is bad for you and those who you want to protect. Some people only want to protect themselves, and some want to protect everything. So it goes; we were born with hunger and thirst and egos after all. However, I think we can say for sure those like Ashitaka who want to protect everything are much better than those interested only in themselves.

This movie is very personal for me. When i was like very young we had this show in my country called "1001 wishes". It was only 1 time every year and you get to choose what's played on the show. Some guy or whatever choose this movie to be played during the ongoing show. I managed to catch it exactly at the moment where they shoot the god's head and it just stuck on me. I couldn't remember anything but that moment and i literally tried to look for this movie for such a long time. I didn't know even if it was a movie or just an ad or whatever. But it was my memory.... one of the most significant ones from when i was still a kiddo. Then one day 2 years ago i was browsing trough these Japanese anime music videos and i heard this song in a mix.. and then i remembered .. i knew i had heard this song before.. i was sure of it. I started going trough the comments tried to shazam it and nothing came out.. Then about a week later a guy replied to my comment from where the song was and i quickly rushed to google it and found it at last.. the movie: Princess Mononoke. I straight went to watch it.. To this day this remains to be one of the most beautiful moments in my entire life. I was speechless and emotionally overwhelmed by this movie and the memory it held for me. One of the very few things in this life that made me cry my guts out!
