Handgun on the right taser on the left, simple... If you have them on both on one side then you don't need to be doing this job.

The public is never wrong...when hes armed....when he shoots at the police....or when he tries to disarm the cop...or when the police is defunded. Always the polices fault. Thanks for keeping our streets safe and dont mind the pompus morons. Its not your fault you chose a career to help the same people that defund you to the point where you arent trained on making sure you draw lethal or none lethal. Cheers to the heroes and fk the anti police moron sitting behind his phone rooting for the criminal without knowing the facts. Thia was an unfortunate event but the root of this problem lye with the people. Defund the police and use some of that money to put the average citizen in a servicemans shoes.

Yes defund the police so we now have racist and incompitent police officers. That helps us all so much. Fucking clowns.

What was he jumping back into the car for? To get into the safety of his car? To drive off? To pick a weapon? To hide something illegal? Am not a cop but such a move would make me nervous as hell. I have a family I wanna go home to in the evening. A calm stop is easier for everyone involved. Demonstrate goodwill both to the civilian and to the policeman show you are disarmed by showing your hands, announce your intention to reach for something, no sudden moves, acknowledge you are in the same page at every move. Making the whole situation a nervous one increases tenfold the possibility of an incident or someone getting hurt.

He tried to run away and people are still whining about her accidentally shooting him? LOL. Even if it was intentional I still wouldn't care. Police *should* be able to shoot any moron that tries to get away like this in a car since he's trying to drag them into a dangerous pursuit that could end fatally for someone else. Even though technically under the rules she wasn't supposed to shoot him, the little brat still got what he deserved so boo fucken hoo.

Watch it on .25 speed. The gun never is discharged. No flash no flip no slide action. At a quarter speed she can holster her gun faster than Jerry Miculek. This is a fake show hoax.

I typically say to look at all aspects of a shooting to understand what truly happened. But there is nothing to dissect here. There are so many stark differences between their tasers and glocks. I am almost certain the tasers are yellow as well. This women is clearly in the wrong and should be charged as such. If she didn’t want to kill him she obviously has something wrong mentally and she be treated for it.

The 'racist' excuse is a lazy copout argument. Mistakes happen under stressful situations. Our brains sometimes don't respond well under pressure. It can happen to anyone, under the right circumstances. We, at home, watch the body cam footage while chilling on our couch looking at our phone. It's a completely different experience for the police officers that are dealing with the actual crisis. The whole event lasted for 10 seconds. Ten seconds isn't a long time, especially in an emergency. It's impossible for police to train under real-world conditions. Tiger Woods accidentally slammed the gas instead of the brakes during his tragic car accident. That happens quite often, even with very experienced drivers. Daunte Wright made many bad choices that led to his death. He's responsible for HIMSELF. He didn't comply with officer commands, resisted arrest, fought police, tried to escape in a car and endangered many people's lives. He was a criminal. The police officers thought everything was going fine with the arrest... until Daunte caught them off-guard, flipped the script and all chaos ensued. Why did he panic? Why was there a warrant for his arrest? Daunte Wright had been charged with first degree aggravated robbery in December 2019. He choked and robbed a woman at gunpoint, stole all her rent money. He had a warrant out for his arrest because he didn't attend his court hearing for two misdemeanor charges, one for possession of a gun without a permit and the other for fleeing from police (last June). He's responsible for his irresponsible and selfish behavior. A car is a 2,000 pound weapon. He could've hurt many people. The police could've blown him to God's Kingdom and it wouldn't be wrong (for that crazy situation). Daunte Wright played real-world Theft Auto and lost. Did you think he was an innocent victim? *I'm tired of people defending selfish, reckless and stupid criminals.* Why didn't Daunte Wright peacefully comply and submit himself to the justice system and due process? Oh wait, he was a dangerous criminal who was desperate to escape.🤗

You people have no idea what it’s like to be black so you cannot have an opinion on black issues. Maybe we would stop trying to run from the police if the police weren’t killing us. We’re already minorities and so many of us are dying this year last year and every year before that. Y’all are hell-bent on killing us. @Tyson B Hundreds of people? In 2020, in the U.S., the police killed 457 white people, 241 black people, and 169 hispanic people. Do you think all those black people were unfairly killed by pOliCe BrUtALiTy? There were almost twice more white people than black people killed by police. Was that also unjust? Nobody is marching and rioting for those lives. It's naive to claim that there's an epidemic of police brutality when there's no data to support it. The BLM argument is full of BS. Daunte Wright made many bad choices that led to his death. He's responsible for HIMSELF. He didn't comply with officer commands, resisted arrest, fought police, tried to escape in a car and endangered many people's lives. He was a criminal. Daunte Wright had been charged with first degree aggravated robbery in December 2019. He choked and robbed a woman at gunpoint, stole all her rent money. @liyahxx There isn't an epidemic of police brutality on African-Americans. In 2020, in the U.S., the police killed 457 white people, 241 black people, and 169 hispanic people. Have you looked at the statistics for black-on-black homicides? Now that's a real epidemic. But, to BLM, those black lives don't matter.

@All things Kiara Did you think police officers were perfect? You can have 26 years of experience and still make a mistake. Training reduces the chances for mistakes, not eliminate them. Daunte Wright was a dumb criminal who maximized his chances for a negative outcome. He made a ton of dumb mistakes. But, hey, he's criminal. He doesn't have the right to do whatever it takes to escape. If he was a better person, then none of this would've happened. We live in a crazy world. Why does the criminal get the benefit of the doubt? Daunte choked and robbed a woman. He threatened to kill her with a gun. He robbed her of all her rent money. Do you think he wasn't dangerous? Of course. He violated his probation by being caught with an illegal handgun, then he ran from police. Whoa! Then he skipped out on his court case, which led to a warrant. Yikes! He had a violent past and a history of fleeing police and the justice system. He was dangerous, because he was cornered. That explains why he acted like a nut job and fought against arrest. He didn't want things to end peacefully. He got served his karma.

@Sunny Sied I'm glad that you are sitting at home frome your couch. desperate criminal? Even if he was thats why we have justice system that does not give the police a right to kill. She had that gun in front of her long enough to know unlike you or me they are highly trained just like our military to be in those high pressure situations and make split second decisions and this wasn't her first year and time around the block. She was on the force for 26 years.

@All things Kiara 10 seconds during a life-and-death crisis situation with a dangerous, desperate criminal? 10 seconds is only a long time for us watching bodycam footage on our smartphones on our comfie, safe couches. It's completely different for the officers that had to deal with the crisis. Daunte Wright made many bad choices, created chaos and confusion and it cost him his life. Step 1. Don't resist police. Step 2. Don't fight police. Step 3. Be civil and polite. Step 4. Peacefully submit yourself to justice and due process. Daunte failed every step. He was an idiot.

@Blind Spot Whatever it is he did or didn't do he still sounded like ma momma's boy. Was he convicted of said crimes? At any rate he did not deserve to die. This officer pulled her gun and held it in her hand while yelling I'm going to tase you. After 26 years of wearing & training with that gun she couldn't tell the difference until it went off? I have defended the cops where they deserve it. I love a good cop but they are few and far between. They use their badge to shield them from accountability. That man did not have to die.

@Sunny Sied Do you think a trained officer of 26 years should know how to recognize and use a deadly weapon vs a taser? What is the indicator this young man was such a "violent, dangerous, and desperate criminal?" I listened to the parents and viewed the video. I'm not involved but it sounds like he was a bit hapless and a total momma's boy. Not some violent criminal. He called his mother when he was pulled over 😂. He wasn't doing anything but trying to get away. He wasn't in the right but he didn't need to die. I certainly do expect an officer with her experience to "be busy" knowing what the F'k she is doing while holding a deadly weapon.

Police do much more training and shooting practice with their side arm than with a taser. Also, the firearm is usually placed on their dominant side so they can quickly grab it with their dominant hand.

@Sunny Sied Rarely is a cop up against a criminal shooting at him, also, it only takes part of a second to rapid through 3 rubber bullets. What I'm more concerned about is the hasty killing or accidental killing of an unarmed person. Cops have Training, Tasers, Vests, Partners, Clubs, Automatic Rifles, Shotguns, Batons, 3 rubber bullets wouldn't stop a cop from defending himself against a shooter, but WOULD potentially stop him from killing an innocent.

Rubber bullets will get a cop killed in those situations where a criminal doesn't fire any rubber bullets.

@Sunny Sied still a officer needs to know how to act in a time of an emergency and she was in a time of an emergency and she should have looked at what she was holding before releasing the trigger on the gun. Sunny Sied
Sunny Sied 7 days ago
Do you think she's busy looking at the gun during a life-and-death situation when a violent, dangerous and desperate criminal is trying to escape in a vehicle (a 2,000 pound weapon)? Nope. The officer is focused on the criminal, the car, other officers and the passenger. The entire event lasted only 10 seconds. Ten. Seconds. With a dangerous criminal desperately trying to flee in a car. Mistakes happen. If you were in 100 different, high stress, surprise, life-and-death situations, then you're going to make some mistakes. Daunte Wright surprised police officers and suddenly didn't comply with instructions, resisted arrest, fought police, tried to escape in a vehicle and endangered many people's lives (a car is a dangerous weapon in the hands of a desperate criminal). The entire incident was very quick and chaotic. The police officer is primarily focused on the rapidly unfolding crisis, not their weapon. If that scenario was ran 100 different times with the police officer, then I can guarantee some mistakes would be made.

Cops need to be re trained on how not to feel nervous when they perceive a threat. BUT HE LOST HIS LIFE BECAUSE HE RESISTED ARREST! You can make him a martyr and march on the streets and shout FTP, but BOTH sides need to take accountability. Teach your kids to comply. Sue later or whatever but no one gets a pass to resist arrest. You don't know wtf is in that cops mind when you resist arrest. Taking accountability for one's action is the key but that goes BOTH WAYS! Now a mother lost her son and he lost his chance at a full life simply because he resisted. No one points that out because its not cool. Its cool to put all responsibility on cops

You guys complaining that she shot him yeah she should have used the right tool but just hear me out maybe just maybe if he wasn't a criminal to begin with he wouldn't have been in that situation would he? The answer is no he wouldn't have he also tried to flee what do you expect a pat on the back?

Just wondering if Daunte Wright was white, would the topic of race and murder be a discussion? Because it seems like nothing is ever said about all the white people that have been shot by officers🤔🤷‍♀️

How the fuck do you reach for your taser with your right hand and put your grabbing hand on your right hip when it should be basic knowledge that your taser is on your LEFT, and even if your that dumb you should notice the moment you grip it cause they feel different and more so when you pick it up because IT HAS A WHOLE DIIFENRT WIEGHT AND FEEL

He shouldn't have resisted, that was a dumbass move on his part- but that is not an excuse for confusing a taser with an actual gun

Something don't look right in this video. They didn't rush to their cars and go after him. She came over and put her hand on him as if she was signaling to resist. I don't hear any gun shots. I'm sorry if someone shoot you at point blank range your driving no where.

Super Mecha Death Christ
What really pisses me off is if I were to accidentally shoot someone I would go to jail.. so why not the cop? This double standard shit is bullshit. But damn this kid would be alive right now if he just went to deal with his warrant, he probably would have been bailed out in couple hours.. anyone know what the warrant was for? This is why you don't defund police you train them better.. when making arrest cop should brought suspect behind car and shut his door then tell him he under arrest.. maybe talk alittle more like tell him don't worry u will be out in an hour on a ROR

How hard is it to just not break away while being arrested, to not get in the car & drive off as if real life is just a game of Grand Theft Auto...This kid & the girl who was shot mid knife thrust, these are both prime examples of bad parenting getting your child killed. But I highly doubt they'll take that personal responsibility. 🙄 I'm sick of 2021 America...

How do you accidentally pull a glock and yell tasar...this is just bad situation awareness on the police side and welp a robber can't say I thought I was holding a BB gun and not get murder even if it's the truth so why should this be any different

What a fucking idiot.. infuriating. Minnesota and the black community specifically has been through so much and this dumb fuck just set us back even further.. makes me want to scream. Whats sad about this , besides the death of a young man, you just know she is going to get off and all hell is going to break loose in Minnesota again.

The whole video does not add up to me, why couldn’t the first cop get the cuffs on, why did Daunte get back into the car? This whole thing looks strange to me. But I think the cop should be fired but I don’t think she was a racist cop who wanted to kill the guy. Just my opinion!

Having dealt with police before. anytime a POC gets slightly irritated police are trained to grab their gun it seems. Hell I got pulled over and have experienced that several times and I'm harmless.
