There are a LOT of theories out there about how the final season of Game of Thrones is going to end. This is the big moment that we've been building to for years! Everyone wants to be the first to guess the right answer... except me. You see, this is not a theory about how Game of Thrones WILL end. No, after looking through all of the episodes, the foreshadowing, the metaphors, the themes, and EVERYTHING else - this is how the battle for the Iron Throne SHOULD end. Actually the motto of the Lannister’s’ is “Hear Me Roar”, this symbolizes their military power, aggressiveness, and passion for dominating their enemies.

The fact that GOT held such a large place in pop culture for so long and then just screwed the pooch soooo bad at the end that it dissolved that immediately.

anyone can die..until S7. Not to brag but I actually guessed bran would win once I figured out DnD were taking a page from rian johnson and just going for subversion and bran seemed the most out of left field..the real kicker ive only watched like 2 episodes of GoT

Nobody saw the events of the "Red Wedding" coming, it took most people by surprise completely. We were all led to believe that since Ned Stark was beheaded at the end of season one, by the same family responsible for Bran's permanent injury, showing us that NO character is protected by "plot armor" and a couple seasons in which the Starks seem to never experience ANYTHING but horror and misfortune lol as the third season was winding down, finally King Robb Stark would be getting some much needed Justice by forming an unlikely alliance and besieging the Lannister home of Casterly Rock. Even Arya was RIGHT there, across the river, a glorious reunion. Everything was starting to finally look up again, they just had to endure a wedding real quick, and they could get back to making a fool out of Tywin Lannister on the battlefield. But then.... I remember very well, after that episode people were saying "I'm NEVER watching that show again!" lol Game of Thrones had successfully pulled the rug RIGHT out from under us all, and it wouldn't be the last time, either. Now, after all is said and done and the story has been told, people are whining and complaining about how it ended. Like Game of Thrones had promised something and didn't deliver. Like it or not, it is what it is. And, just because there were some mind-blowing moments, it doesn't mean it had to be anything but "good enough." People demanding perfection has become an obstacle to storytelling in all its forms. And, that's unfortunate because it's going to limit the amount that people make an attempt at expression. And, that's just not a world I wanna live in.

you know what, his theory was technically right. He thought the ending was going to not be what the audience expected and would probably change from the normal tone of the show. So you know what, good on you Mat. you did great!

I personally think the ending was alright, there are just some things I didn't like 1. Bran is king. This literally doesn't make sense since he said he won't be king and then he says "Why do you think I came all this way" like seriously! 2. John returns to the wall. I mean sure, maybe he feels like he deserves it but he doesn't! He should be the leader or at least stay in King's Landing or Winterfell because I mean who's stopping him?

This was the outcome I’d hoped would happen. Much as I loved The thought of Jon and Dany ruling side by side, my truest wish was for humanity to be purged by the Night King and begin anew in eternal winter. But...at least we have Bran the Broken 🙂🔫

I really hope you do a theory about the fall of GOT🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽. Everything from the terrible writing, story lines, character arcs and general ending of the show, to just how the last 2 seasons were completely rushed and full of mistakes (mainly season 8).

The stuff about the Starks only succeeding when they deny their House/identity is a complete misreading of the narrative. All of the characters do indeed go through a period where others try to foist different identities on them, but they ultimately reclaim those identities. As GRRM says, the Starks are the heroes.

Religion has been harping on pride for at least 2000 years now. It's hardly a theme. But winding your way thru a complex world as a knight, could you tell the difference in yourself between pride and honor?
Crash103179 3 months ago
Yes, GRRW maintained a theme of tearing down institutions. Try building a society without them. The Citadel is an Institution. The maesters bring medicine and learning and hold the kingdom together with their crows. Where would Westeros be without them?

The maesters at the citadel were right though the arch maester said over and over "the wall has stood through it all" and he's right if Dany had never taken a Dragon to try and fight them they wouldn't have used it to destroy the wall

Well, I’ve never been more convinced that this whole story, and probably Martin himself, is deeply misanthropic and nihilistic. No wonder I’ve never really totally liked the show, even when it was “good”.
