How could you not know it was Reiner? They establish very early that hair is a determing factor of who is a Titan, it made Annie obvious. The armored Titan was clearly Reiner, he was the only one with that hair and it was painfully clear that he told Annie where Eren was in S1 after he was picked up

Okay, second comment, I know. I don't care. I actually stopped watching anime after watching AoT season 1 because I thought, they can't top this, and now all the normies are getting into anime. WTF? Last weekend, I binged up to current and yeah. I agree. Season 2 is worlds better than season 1 but still consistent with everything season 1 built up. Now I'm constantly watching anime. Funny how that happens. Anyone else have subtitles for their subconscious? Just me? Ok.

@Ara Ace Salah it really hurts for a fan of anime and a person who is passionate about literature. Me and my friend would try to advocate anime to not only our class but to our staff becus there are arer eally great potential mangas and great visual storytellers like Hajime Isayama. I have already made our main department teacher who is quite open to things to watch Vinland saga and with this assignment i wanted to reccomend her AoT since she heard it was hailed as the GoT of anime since GoT had great cast of characters with great narrative and great foreshadowing... But i guess like the final season it all fumbled down in the end

@Red Master Agreed. It was disappointing. It makes me wonder what Isayama’s original ending was, which was apparently supposed to be like “The Mist”, as he has said for the AOT exhibitions in the past years. Hopefully, the anime can have a different ending, or add some scenes, to have the needed buildup that the conclusion lacked. Isayama did say the anime is the final version of the manga, and he’s been pretty involved with the anime.

Attack on Titan after 123 chapter is garbage, ending is maybe even worse than Game of Thrones, it's not even close to masterpiece. come on overall even Naruto is better, first season mid tier, second season mid tier, third season part 1 mid tier, part 2 high tier, season four from 90 to 123 high tier, after 123 to 135 low tier, 136 to 139 garbage tier)) AOT always was overrated shounen with one amazing arc, if you take the whole story, it is 7/10 maximum

I think people are disappointed at the ending because it's too realistic. But I get that it had to be this way. This is because Isayama had been drawing heavy influence from real world events. From the start, the WWII references/parallels were already there. But towards the later parts of the manga, meaning Season 4 onwards, WWII parallels were all but highlighted. The opening is practically a WWII montage. The Eldian internment areas were the Jewish concentration camps. There was even a Marleyan army officer who looked just like Hitler. *WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD* SnK's moral story is actually not found in the protagonist's main storyline, but was already emphasized by the author as early as Ch. 134. That it was the hating and divisive nature of humanity, which, through its continuous disparaging of Eren's people as being an "island of devils," was what ultimately gave birth to the monster that Eren became. The author emphasized that it was precisely because of human's nature to easily hate that they now face this great evil, and that this burden was shared equally "by the adults." It should be obvious at this point that now, the story goes beyond WWII parallels. This is already current, real-world parallels. In the final analysis, apart from its immense global popularity, SnK ultimately had this social commentary to impart with the readers. Which, seeing the state of things, appears to be very timely, and for me, makes a great argument for being the anime that defines this generation.

Mikasa, the most monodimensional character of the entire fucking story was the key to solve the Titan curse because a loli had Stockolm Syndrome. It feels like a stupid fairy tail and an insult to everything that happened before. "LoVe wAs tHe AnSwEr". The Founder/Paths mechanics are left really ambiguous and the fact that everything was pre-determined makes everything so meaningless. Just think about it, in 122 when Eren meets Ymir, she already knows she'll be freed after Mikasa's kiss, but she still needs to pretend she has slave mentality because otherwise a paradox would be created. Time fuckery was a mistake. The Lelouch ending is also so fucking cheap, Isayama just couldn't make Eren complete the rumbling because of the PC world we live in. I'm not saying that genocide is right obviously, but I think an AnR ending or something similar would have been way more iconic. We had a potential Eclipse 2.0 ( Berserk) and we got a cheap mediocre ending instead. Also as I said before, a lot of the more interesting characters like Reiner and Historia weren't explored to their full potential because the spotlight needed to be given to Mikasa (boring character that revolves around Eren) and Armin, a character that was supposed to be the new Erwin but failed since he didn't really do much after the timeskip. The truth is that this final arc had a lot of potential but everything was rushed because the manga needed to end with 139 (because muh symbolism).

@yeeku yeah, the shows is so realistic that the world will forgive their nation for destroying 80% of the world's population. imagine armin trying to negotiation for peace after his nation killed 80% of the world. That's just pure ridiculous who will forgive them? that's worse than hitler and mao combined.
yeeku
yeeku 4 days ago
I think it was a poorly done lelouch. There’s really no peace at all. The hatred for eldians exists because of the acts of their ancestors from more than a 1000 years ago. Oh no, but armin saved the day! 80% of the world still got rumbled. Not all the remaining countries will submit. There will be so much more bloodshed. The titans being eradicated won’t stop the outside world and their fucked up ideology of eldians paying for the acts of their race. Armin is probably gonna get sniped and killed by an angry citizen when he’s giving speeches as an ambassador for paradis. Realistically speaking. Poor Annie

@Kebong the shows itself isnt complex, the ways you think like "to be fair attack on titan require a high IQ to understand" really speak volume. No matter how you yourself rationalize it, shouldnt be how story judged. The story should be judge by the story itself. Not by your effort in trying to make sense of it. And no Eren didnt develop PTSD your understanding of mental health is very lacking yet you still act like you understand it. Laughable, is it not?

@Silas K. Spoiler Warning I guess tbh I don't mind the ending, it's just that it's a little disappointing as the ending to a series like AOT. I expected something more than "the power of love" to be the answer that saved humanity, Eren and Mikasa's characters were a little butchered (Mikasa more than Eren, unfortunately), it felt a little anticlimactic to me. I like that it all ended well for humanity, that they live a relative peace, but I think that there are other series that handled the dilemma of peace and the sacrifice for humanity trope better (won't mention them to avoid spoiling those series). But well, that's my opinion. And yeah, AOT is similar to Game of Thrones TV show in this specific example. Dunno about the books since I haven't read them, but the impact that both endings (AOTs and GoTs TV adaptation) had are pretty similar imo
Silas K.
Silas K. 5 days ago
No they are not. Game of thrones was written by George r r Martin and the Series was destroyed by d and d. Attack on Titan was written and ended by hajime isayama. And the ending isn’t that bad....... the hate comes mostly from the English community. I‘m from germany. And everyone seems to love the ending here

I am an anime only, and I haven't read the final chapter and I plan to wait for the anime until 2022. But I have heard a lot about how isayama ended it on an unsatisfactory note and how it was not good and all. But isn't it always has been the case that a lot of elements in the story are too conveniently placed there (and I accept that that convenience factor has always paid off well at the end) to raise some eyebrows. For example: Eren was not eaten in the beginning of the anime with just his limbs cut off, mikasa was saved by eren when she was out of gas losing hope in her and suddenly at a convenient timing..eren showed up, when beast Titan began throwing rocks at the scouts.. Levi was standing at the top of a house.. but didn't get hit (conveniently). Don't get me wrong, I love this saga.. and I know some things are essential to happen for the story to move forward. But at the end..my point is.. *Isn't reality filled with a lot of uncertainty to which a lot of our expectations falls victim to? Isn't it the case that disappointment and despair is what gives us the motivation to keep moving forward to find a better way of life?* The only thing I am getting at is that reality is filled with disappointments and aot has always taught us more than enough to come to terms with those feelings. (Sorry for this essay.. )
baba kunwar
baba kunwar 5 days ago
@Chewy Possum Isayama did not just bring conveniences into the story , Isayama moved out of his league . He tried to go beyond his lane and his his story suffered. I would be very amazed if he could pull it off. It was not only the final chapter , it was the last arc as a whole , all the events were culminating to the finale we got.
Chewy Possum
Chewy Possum 5 days ago
I am glad if u think like that, my point was only the uncertainty aspect of everything. I am infact in no position to nitpick the genius of isayama's craft.. every story has its flaws and opinions differ. So I am happy to see ur perspective.

This show certainly changed my perspective and if anything got me addicted to it - I hope theres other animations out there thats much like this because fuck me this was better than most shit I've watched in the last decade, I'd be in work thinking bout the cliff hangers and whats happening next only for there to be multiple twists and turns... Idk its kinda my fault for expecting a masterpiece of an ending because it's isayama writing. So when i read it I was so disappointed when it's just good and nothing more nothing less. The ending is not bad it's just meh. Also stop saying we didn't understand the ending cause yes we did and we didn't like what it's trying to say if you liked it good on you I personally didn't liked it. Most people at this point understood the ending and people can form an opinion on it and not everyone will like it heck not everyone even likes one thing so stop arguing about this ending the whole show have been amazing and we should thank isayama for the amazing journey. I'm a bit biased to the journey cause I didn't like the destination so all I can say is "it's about the journey, not the destination"

Nemuri Kayama — Midnight
I feel like a lot of people are shitting on the Manga ending, but I feel like it was perfect. Wrapped up all the previously established themes
Transposed Tesseract
@Hanis MH2 And one last point, the ending DOESN'T "literally say he killed his mom". It more like shows that it was unavoidable fate and a direct consequence of saving Bertolt. See, it's mentioned that Paths is a place where Past, Present and Future coexist at once. What could that imply? A timeless place with events etched out throughout it. Same as something being set in stone, fate, Ymir's prophecy. Eren was a slave to this prophecy. And everything played out how it had to. And he was bound to follow it, if he wanted to destroy the curse of Titans and set Eldians free from it. It's not clearly mentioned he did it, it's open ended, and more of Ymir's doing than his, it was a consequence of his other action.
Transposed Tesseract
@Hanis MH2 Eren's character was only "assassinated" because people deluded themselves into believing the chad Eren memes and literally maybe just joined the show from Marley arc or something? Idk, when we've known Eren for so long, how people just force themselves into believing only that facade of Eren is real. Such a sudden personality shift, and people take it in for reality cause that's what they want. Anyways, I've had the same arguments over and over again, I find it pointless as I can't convince anyone since they don't want to be convinced, and it's fine. It's your opinion. If you reread you'll see many of your doubts cleared. But if you don't want to and wish to hold on the same opinion till the end, feel free to. As for Armin and all, the way you put it "he has a luxurious life, gf, fame and all" makes it sound a bit childish. But the alliance being hailed as heroes, which was actually Eren's wish, *is* unsatisfying. But it's a realistic touch. Life isn't always what we expect. Reality isn't always what we deserve. Read that link I posted above, you'll understand my view on it more. And as Armin said, since Eren went on with it to the end, not to continue with his resolve would actually be a waste for all the destruction. And I'll point out another thing, since that's something many are disappointed about. Armin thanking Eren. That was for 2 reasons. One, since it's already set in stone, as I mentioned above, it would be worse to let all the deaths go to waste since it's already happening. Two, it was a sign of him consoling Eren, knowing he's close to his last moments, so that's the least he can do for his friend turned nemesis, so Eren can go out peacefully after the burden he's carried. Anyways, that's all I'm addressing till now. I don't feel it necessary to address most of the other points, because you can easily read into it and clear them out if you want to, but of course it depends on if you want to. That's that. Tschüss!

@Transposed Tesseract Erens character was assasinated as an incel and simp for Mikasa even though their interactions always felt one sided.Even Eren x Amrin/Annie has more chemistry than this couple.Erens character is said have been a facade when we know that chp 121-123+131 exist and how we know that Eren was not willing to sacrifice paradis at all in his thoughts. Also the main motivation for Eren was hi mom and the ending literally says that he killed her which was completely useless since even if he directed Dian or not,his mother would still be dead as the other titans would have killed her. Also when chp 122 happended we realise that Ymir was waiting for Eren for 2000 years but the ending contradicts that it was Mikasa that she was waiting for. Also it ruins Ymis character that she fell in love with King fritz whn realistically something liek that is impossibel.Even stockholm syndrome has its limits and also various studies have been conducted which reveal that it is not real or its not as extreme and common as we see it to be.Reiner was turned into some creep who smells and turned on by a married womans letter(and she is also a mother) even though he nevr even though about her after time skip to Marley arc.It was completely random and theres also the problem of Mikasa and Ymir parallel who does not even add up.Mikasa is still a slave to Eren as we saw in the time skip where she sits near his grave and how soes she set Ymir free at all if the condition to free her is a woman who is not a slave to someone. The fact that Historia was willing to marry her bully and usethe pregancy to escape death automatically destroys her character. She would never use/have a child fo her own goals.Especially with someone who once hurt her. Theres a common pattern here. The woman are in love with abusive men, this coudl speak about the authors values.Historia with Farmer,Mikasa with Eren and Ymir with Dina Fritz. Also Armin is automaticlaly taken as a hero even though he basically did not even kill Eren and it was Miaksa who did.He is given a good ending when he gains a lot.He has new friends,a gf and is now well famous, respected by many and even living a luxurious life.
Transposed Tesseract
@Hanis MH2 That's not true. I find it more like those who say the ending's trash refuse to elaborate or listen.
Transposed Tesseract

@Transposed Tesseract then if readers reread the manga in a different light and ignoring all other plots just for the ending to make sense, and the manga leaves most of the other interesting things for interpretation, then that sort of thing already failed. Not enough people can like open-endings.
Transposed Tesseract
@Hanis MH2 That's more of a personal taste really. Not that they shouldn't. And it actually wasn't like major plot points were left over. If you let go of the image you had, and reread with this in mind, you'll see not much is open ended and things do end full circle.

@마야 Kinda disagree. Yes it has it’s flaws and issues but I think that the point the ending is supposed to be disappointing. I think Isayama wanted the ending to confound us and leave us saying “what the hell?!?” This show has always been a commentary and allegory for the flaws of humanity and it’s nature. Ultimately I think it stays true to the theme by showing that no matter what we do true freedom is simply unattainable. I don’t think Eren being a clueless slave to fate was outta nowhere. Call me a arrogant smartass but I think it was pretty clear that Eren was a unwilling slave to fate since the time travel reveal. Not to mention I there’s a pretty reasonable explanation for Eren’s behavior and that he developed multiple personality disorder or a extreme fictional version of bipolar disorder. This hypothesis is not without basis either, Eren was shown to have always been screwed up in the head since childhood he killed two men without remorse so likely a form of anti-social personality disorder. Couple that with repeated trauma and excessive stress in his adolescence it was only a matter of time before his mental state snapped. I guess ultimately it’s like Kenny Ackerman once said “everyone’s a slave to something”. I think that’s the point the ending wasn’t supposed to be satisfying

@Topi Karttunen Wow, ok, I can't waste my time on you. Death threat isn't about the people killing the person getting the threat, it's about the magnanimous amount of disrespect at the core. @kaptainkooleio yeah same armin just kinda accepted the fact that he genocide 80% for them and got more angry at eren being a whiny bitch and can't say his feelings to mikasa. So all I can ask to armin is if you cared more about you're friends then why did you even try to stop the rumbling in the first place? And also everyone just kinda accepted eren as a human? Tf? He killed 80% of the world and correct me if I'm wrong 20% IS A LOT OF PEOPLE LEFT. Aot world has over 1 billion people and paradis doesn't even surpass 1 million. So 20% of 1 billion is 200 million so eren just kinda took all their powers which is the titan and the walls and just left them to deal with 200 million people also why tf is no one rebelling inside paradis? When eren literally betrayed all of the yeagerist and stopped at 80% When they decided to do nothing a lot of people rebelled now I'm pretty sure alot of people are not happy with what eren did which will spark a rebellion and now historia army is almost wiped because of the yeagerist what are they gonna do? Wait for death?

I've come across several people who've done that, and I appreciate it. But most of the people hating on the ending are just trash talking it with no respect whatsoever for the Mangaka, and even writing petitions to change the ending and sending death threats. Smh... What's the world coming to? The fandom has really just become like the world described in AOT.

@CosmicDreamz Don't worry, the ending is beautiful. Isayama couldn't have ended it better. People who are complaining about the ending missed the point of the whole story. Only thing I could possibly complain about is ***minor spoiler*** a certain subplot about Historia that Isayama let go, probably cos it didn't fit with the ending he ended up writing.
Transposed Tesseract
@CosmicDreamz It's top notch till the end. The ending is unsatifying and a bit underwhelming, but it's fitting and realistic. Opinions will differ especially with the vast storyline of AOT that itself is based on differences in perspective, but imo, it was great. Also, those who are simply trash talking unconvincingly are mostly shippers, or people who chose sides and didn't get that AOT was never about who would win.

@Transposed Tesseract Here's a tip: dont respond and I won't. I'm not the one saying I'm leaving, you did And okay? He still hugged the guy who murdered millions of innocent people like seconds before and only seemed angry at the fact that he disrespected mikasa, not the whole genocide thing. Ffs he legit showed the remains of the world to armin, who by the way was avidly against the whole genocide thing like minutes before, and he didn't even look fazed Omg what?! Mikasa had a shard that was slightly bigger 🤯 Omg bro, remember that one time eren saved armin? That was pretty emotional bro. And when Eren held hands with him in 139? Eren must wanna bang armin right then and there. Or.. maybe its a platonic relationship and he's just being friendly with friends What are you even saying 😭 of course he has a good relationship with his stepsister. Any scenes that you speak of are nowhere NEAR as extreme as how eren acted in the end. Him having an "emotional" expression while with mikasa (who is borderline obsessed with him) shouldn't directly lead to him randomly freaking out, begging for her to never move on. Wouldve made more sense if he matched the obsessive attitude Mikasa has towards him beforehand, but that never happens. Only at the last minute for some reason Not even against the idea of mikasa and eren getting together. Just wouldve executed it differently instead of having the relationship go from like 10 to 100 out of nowhere You overanalyze these scenes to make them out to be much more important than they really are
Transposed Tesseract
@Zoomer1112 For the love of God, me saying I'm leaving doesn't stop the damn notifications with you arguing the same things blindly over and over again. Armin clearly mentioned he wouldn't let it go to waste, bruh, read it again! And explain one last thing to me after which I shall mute these notifications. Why the hell was that memory shard of Mikasa the biggest in what would have been Eren's last moments when if Zeke had not made contact with his head? Why the hell so much emotional detail in all EM scenes, even the ones seen through Eren's eyes? So that it doesn't make sense in the end?
Zoomer1112
Zoomer1112 7 days ago
@Transposed Tesseract From the official translations that I read, nothing Armin said indicated that he did it just for the sole purpose of not wanting a genocide to feel meaningless. He would've been more specific if that were the case, but instead he directly thanked Eren for killing a ton of people just for their sake I can understand some of this being lost in translation, though. So I'll consider the possibility Also, for the love of God, stop saying you're leaving the conversation if you're still going to reply right after
Zoomer1112
Zoomer1112 7 days ago
@Transposed Tesseract You have to understand the context of that scene 1. He just watched someone extremely important to him die (hannes) to the same monster that killed his mother 2. His comrades were at their lowest. almost everyone, not just mikasa and him, were fucked. Armin, jean, Connie, Erwin, it was practically over for them. 3. He looked into the eyes of the creature he hates the most in life. The same one that fueled his anger for a majority of the series All of these things you should consider, yet you choose to assume that his last attempt at survival was just to protect mikasa. No, it was a culmination of anger, trauma, and desperation in his final moments. Possibly, the punch was some sort of instinct brought about by the founding titan. Regardless, Mikasa was but a factor in it along with everyone and everything else Actually its kind of funny how you brought it up since its clear Mikasa was going in for a kiss but Eren ignored it You say I'm the one ignoring his inner monologue.. 🤣. Here, let me pull up a few things for you images.app.goo.gl/3haqK7XWqrhg7DPLA images.app.goo.gl/JU6cfLUsk8ya2Z3a6 images.app.goo.gl/yTBTzfvyCb3iFsUy8 part 1 images.app.goo.gl/GNqqwYLqUWvBTx9w7 part 2 images.app.goo.gl/cwvXbgUYWrkS3KFv5 images.app.goo.gl/C3x2QitmyUCdJzYC7 Among others of course Its interesting how far you have to dissect that question scene bit by bit to prove how its much more important to the story than it really is. Yes, that question did mean a lot to eren. Still doesn't explain why it needed to become the primary focus of everything, especially when confronted with the evidence showcasing eren's true philosophy about freeing himself and his people. Now let me explain how I viewed Eren's ideals throughout the series: Even as a kid where there seemed to be no threat to paradis, Eren was always and still disappointed to see his people kept in walls like "cattle", which is a phrase he repeats quite often. Evidence from chapter 1 here: images.app.goo.gl/E2x7jwfNC89hP8Xw5 images.app.goo.gl/LE2w4RKf7WLuWdfX7 After the first wall is destroyed we see how his goals point to executing the titans (for obvious reasons) In the beach scene here: images.app.goo.gl/FN5Tgh53yxPV67Yv5 Eren's goals shift towards demolishing his true oppressors, the Marleyans, rather than the titans. He believes that getting rid of them will finally set them free, hammering in his motivation and desire for freedom The ocean served as another achievement and goal for Eren since it represented freedom. It was something he could only reach IF he was free. Unfortunately, he comes to notice that even though he finally reached something he's been wanting to get to since he was young, instead of feeling happy, he shows a sense of emptiness This is due to the realization of what exactly is across the ocean, more obstacles preventing him from being free. images.app.goo.gl/R1e4CFBSm4FXvAa49 In this panel ^ he expresses his disappointment after learning that even after completing a major goal of his, everything still feels unfulfilled. All of this, combined with all the traumatic things he went through starting at a very young age (facing maneating titans), is what made his sudden change in personality reasonable to me. In fact, we get to see this sudden change in personality occur right before our eyes when Eren touches Historia's hand and learns the truth of just about everything. If I had to take in such shocking information all at once, I wouldn't say I'd be the same person I used to be. Freedom was thought to have been his goal From chapter 1 images.app.goo.gl/E2x7jwfNC89hP8Xw5 To the final arc images.app.goo.gl/3haqK7XWqrhg7DPLA His goals remained consistent, except he becomes more aggressive due to the events that occurred in his life, which is what likely gave into his breaking point. So even after all of this, in 139, we're told to believe that all of this was just Eren lying to keep up a facade. No no no, his REAL motivation this entire time was to simply make his friends look like heroes. Yup. Thats it. Good stuff bro. Even killed his mom just to accomplish such a petty goal And the genocide part? Eren doesn't even know why he did it, lol. They basically just said "oh yea paths did some funky past-present-future stuff with his head" and left it there. Very good explanation. Then he left his nation powerless against the rest of the entire world that he decided not to completely destroy for some reason when he easily could have finished the job. Not saying that what he did was justified, but if you're gonna kickstart a genocide just cause you want your friends to look cool, might as well keep them safe after you're done with it. Couldve prevented his now titan-less people on a tiny island from fighting a battle they clearly can't win, but nope And along with all other contradictions, eren telling mikasa to move on in 138 is something to consider as well Oh yea, fascist jeagerists run Paradis now. The same people who adore the person that the rest of the world loathes. Should end well And historia even got away with being an accomplice in genocide. Pretty epic

@tathagat benjwal Based opinion of an EH shipper. I followed Eren's story from the beginning too, and I didn't find him lacking humanity anywhere in S1-S3 so as he may not show it while revealing his true self at least 3 times in the final arc. If anything, he was mure humane initially than Armin I'd say. He swore for vengeance, and seeks freedom, but when the enemy turned out to be humans (first with Annie, and so on) we always see him hesitating. This video is again another of those povs which centralizes itself upon Eren's character majorly in the Marley arc. In paths we see that Eren realizes he's not free, the very reason he can understand and empathize with Ymir not being free in the first place, and telling her, "You're not a God, you're not a slave". He started to empathize with those he'd previously have called "cattle" once he realises he too is a slave to this fate in a sort of timeless place called paths where all events are just etched out, as though it's all Ymir's prophecy (past, present and future coexisting at once, this is exactly what it implies). Anyways, everyone's free to have their own opinions. I shall now retire from these discussions and utilize my time more meaningfully in my work. Auf Wiedersehen.

I mean with the themes that the story has built up until now about generational hatred and resentment and the inheritance of that from parent to child. It completely betrays those themes last minute for a theme that any adult should already know, yet tells us nothing modern about ourselves.

I really don't understand all the hate the ending's getting. Seems like more than half the readers were just 13 or 14 year oldish teenagers choosing sides, wanting eren to win by being a badass villain, get more of alliance killed off, or magically bring peace, or shipping this person with that. The conflict of humanity was central to the story, and it remains at the end. Titan powers gone, but human conflict remains. As true as reality. An unsatisfying, tragic and traumatizing ending, just as it was meant to be. AOT remains a masterpiece in my eyes. From around ch. 112 it was just evident the ending would just be a pessimistic (which is actually realistic) version of the Zero Requiem. Eren was just the protagonist, not a hero, not a villain. A tragic character who gave up his own freedom for the freedom of those he cared about. A person who became the demon the world feared cause the world pushed him to it. Those who are taking Eren's words as something "romantic", that isn't it. It's just that, at the core of it all, he just wanted to be a normal human and live out the rest of his life with those he cared about. But the cruel nature of the world, his titan powers and everything that pushed him up to make the choices he made, wouldn't allow it. He sinned, he can't live a free life. That's the point of those words. Regret. Not merely romance. Helplessness. In the end, AOT is the story, the truth that Armin will tell the world when they reach Paradis... "Sono hi jinrui wo omoidashita Yatsura ni shihai sarete ita kyofu Torikago no nakani torawarete ita kutsujoku..." You are free not to like the ending. This is my opinion, I think it's beautiful. Maybe when you grow up you'll appreciate it more.

Kinda disagree.

@Nishi overall theme? They literally retconned pretty much every statement eren ever said about freedom and killing titans just for him to be like "na i was just bluffing, i wanted u guys to look cool thats all"

@Anmaz Warlan way to miss the point lmao. Anyways i don't care if you liked it or not. You are free to like or dislike it. (Eren is NOT useless, he achieved Eldia's freedom, removed the titans, Ymir was freed because of HIS actions)

@Linus Chen yea, the series ended in the 80s and there was no need for any of the other films

@Corin Swindells also I think Eren breaking down and talking about Mikasa is actually a part of 139 I’d keep if I were Isayama. It further shows that Eren is still the same selfish, scared, and confused child. That’s what I like about this series everyone but Erwin didn’t die very honorably and courageous just look at Carla she told Hannes to save Eren and Mikasa but right before she dies she covers her mouth and starts mumbling how she doesn’t want to die and is scared. I guess it could’ve been worded better but still my points still there. Also hallucigenia parasites disappearance I don’t think needed any explanation unlike others say. We’re already told it’s essentially a parasite and parasites die without a host so I don’t understand how that one was confusing I think most can figure that one out for themselves. Eren wanting Mikasa for himself that was a incredibly selfish thought and Eren even acknowledges that tell Armin not to tell Mikasa he said that

@Corin Swindells I already pointed it this is a very morally grey series. I just think boiling down Ymir’s emotions to nothing more than Stockholm syndrome isn’t doing the story justice. I personally think it’d be more accurately described as severe depression along with a inferiority complex. I say depression instead of Stockholm cause it’s a more logical explanation. I’ve personally had the fortune to never have had depression but seeing how a lot of psychologists describe it as a positive feedback loop so that’s the reason they never leave toxic relationships is cause they feel they don’t deserve better and love. Ymir was shown to be unhappy however she started to break free when Eren invalidated he and gave her a sense of individuality so I think depression along with a severe inferiority complex is a better explanation than Stockholm.

@Corin Swindells I hope you’re talking about the Star Wars sequels cause everything else is fine to incredible.

@Linus Chen ye, I mean the page of Erin talking about how he doesn’t want Mikasa with another man could just be entitirly removed and if we got told about what happened to all the Colossal Titans. And the fact that Yimr loved Karl apparently is a joke, it’s extremely lazy and unlikely. If Isayama makes some more side books some of these problems could be solved. Also my biggest problem is with Mikasas ending, I personally felt like it should have been more happy, but that’s just me. There are other problems but all on all it is no we’re near as bad as Star Wars or game of thrones, in my opinion
